Matthew Sharp, professional cellist
The whole school were treated to a performance by The Wheels on Debussy entitled ‘Hansel and Gretel and other stories’. Matthew Sharp, professional cellist and opera singer played his cello, sang and acted all the elements of the story with the help of the school children (and staff). During the performance, the children created their own song, acted out parts of the story, empathised with the characters and had the chance to be totally immersed in the story of Hansel and Gretel.
First Access music lessons
During terms 1 and 2, Class 4 participated in ‘Access to Music’ sessions. NMPAT (Northamptonshire Music and
Performing Arts Trust) came into school on a Wednesday afternoon to teach the children how to play the ukulele. This culminated in a special concert at the end of the two terms. Two teachers came into school for 10 weeks and taught the children, who all had their own instrument to practice with.
