After a long coach journey, we finally arrived and it was worth the wait.
Half the class were whisked away to begin their workshop. They studied 4 paintings in the gallery and discussed the ideas of fear and hope both in connection to the paintingsing and themseleves.
The rest of the class explored the exhibition of British Art throughout the ages. We looked at a range of different pictures and sculptures, discussed our interpretations and shared our likes and dislikes.
After lunch, the groups swapped over.
All adults were impressed with the exemplary behaviour of the class and the extent to which they engaged with the day. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the gallery through the children's eyes and sharing in their observations and discussions.
A great day :)
